TOP BUILDER, BAR NONE- Ernest and Debbie Martiniz, owners of Bar-M Construction Co., are awarded the Building Contractors Association of Otero County Builder of the Year for 2000.  Ernest was born in Tularosa and raised in Alamogordo.  As one of six sons, he was introduced to construction at an early age from his father, an Otero County roofing and masonry contractor.  Ernest went on to various building projects, sending a few years in Oregon an commercial and masonry projects. He moved back to La Luz and began building home in Otero County in 1995. Ernest and Debbie have a unique working relationship where they are both involved in the building process, from design, floor plans and financing to final touches.
